Morning Rounds Checklist: 2nd FloorEdit

  • Answer any chamber notes that pertain to the 2nd floor.
  • Empty the trash in bathrooms.
  • Empty slop buckets and basins in guest rooms.
  • Fill water pitchers in guest rooms and collect hot cistern pitchers as you go.
  • Make beds.
  • Floors should be swept including under beds and furniture and behind doors, and sweep the tops of the baseboards too. Sweep everything out into the hallway. Once this is done, close the doors behind you.
  • Hallways- Sweep the space on either side of the carpets and then use carpet sweeper on carpet.
  • Bathrooms: Tower bathroom and baby bathroom
    • Clean toilets (from the inside out) using Bon Ami and wipe down outside surfaces with Go2 spray.
    • Empty the trash in each stall, the big trash can, and the diaper pail.
    • Wipe down plungers and plunger buckets with Go2 spray and a toilet sponge.
    • Wipe mirror with Go2 spray –Also wipe clean the paper towel and soap dispensers.
    • Clean the sink with Bon Ami and wipe down with Go2 spray.
    • Spray the doorknobs with a Go2.
    • In the baby bathroom, wipe down the diaper changing station and diaper bins with Go2 spray.
    • Restock toilet paper (3 rolls per toilet), Sani-bags, and paper towels
    • Check to be sure that the soap dispenser is full
    • Fill the paper towel dispenser
    • Sweep and mop the floor.
  • Clean the Babysitting Room- Straighten the pillows and furniture, and wipe down the refrigerator. Fix the books on the bookshelf, pick up any toys and sweep the floor.
  • Clean your Area Closet- Make note of any supplies that need to be replaced. Organize all cleaning supplies, wipe up any spills, and remove any garbage, extra linens etc.
  • Empty the big Laundry Bin in the hallway on the 2nd floor.
  • Make note of any rooms that had to be skipped and any other problems. If a room has a sock or a do not disturb sign, make a note of it to ensure that it is cleaned after lunch. Also, if a guest asks you to come back later, this should also be noted. Take note as well of any problems in the rooms. (fire hazard in room, sheets need replacing, broken shade, curtain rod etc.)
  • Bring hot water pitchers to the dining room and stack in piles no larger than 4-high. Bring trash to the kitchen loading dock. Report to the laundry room and give notes to supervisors.
