Conference Services Open Up ChecklistEdit

Art BarnEdit

  1. Check Path to Art Barn for holey ground, alert Truck Crew if any areas need to be filled in
  2. Fill 10-15 big blue jugs of water, store in Art Barn, with top covered in saran wrap
  3. Murphy surfaces and chairs
  4. Pay special attention to windows (clean in and out, after vacuuming inside sills and corners)
  5. Check light bulbs
  6. Remove all cobwebs, dust walls, corners…..
  7. Sweep floor thoroughly (there will be rat poop)
  8. Organize all art supplies and make sure there is good signage for what goes where.

Kiddie BarnEdit

  1. Be very aware of the dead bugs! Try to remove them all
  2. Clean all windows: Windex inside and out, vacuum window sills, Murphy window sills
  3. Put screens up
  4. Remove Off season equipment (Vicmobile etc.) if any has been stored for the winter
  5. Put plastic plugs into all outlets, check with chamber if you don’t have enough, order more if they are out
  6. Clean out fridge, plug in
  7. Murphy all furniture
  8. Sweep and mop floors
  9. Wax the big wooden floor
  10. Take the mattresses out of the bags and place them in appropriate cribs
  11. Make up the cribs with the sheets and blankets in the closet, next to the bathroom
  12. Give bathrooms very thorough changeover clean (scrub toilet with comet), overstock with paper towels, toilet paper and soap
  13. Set up cleaning area in closet next to bathroom.
  14. Remove all toys from closets and set up rooms – triple sink the toys, you can get little basins and do it in front of the Barns in the grass, lay the toys on drop clothes so they dry in the sun. If you do this in the morning for 2 days with a few volunteers and let the toys dry for the afternoon you should be able to get this done around cleaning the rest of the Barns
  15. Vacuum mats
  16. Make sure each chalkboard has chalk and erasers

MarshmanEdit

  1. All underworld furniture should be removed, rugs can go to Pel rooms
  2. Trash should be emptied, trashcans scrubbed
  3. Clean out fireplace (extra points for setting up the fireplace)

  5. Bring curtains to laundry
  6. Place neat stack of firewood (from south wall of Newton outside), kindling and newspaper next to fireplace

NewtonEdit

KitchenEdit

  1. All Kitchen’s food and dishes should be returned to the kitchen
  2. Empty cabinets/drawers of Kitchies’ supplies. Organize and clean them inside and out.
  3. Have Kitchie detail clean stove with Food Service Manager’s instructions
  4. Counters, fridges, and walls scrubbed. (Surfaces of Fridges, stove and dishwasher should be sprayed with yellow Liquid Shine stuff that makes stainless steel shiny.)

BathroomsEdit

  1. Toilets scrubbed in and out

Main RoomsEdit

  1. Trash, compost, cardboard, recycling… Should be removed
  2. A large trash can should remain in the middle room, 3 medium sized trashcans should be dispersed between the kitchen and the front room. The middle room should also have a trash can labeled for recycling. Each bathroom should have a small trash can.
  3. Scrub trashcans
  4. All white conference service tables should be brought to the front porch and placed unobtrusively behind the green benches (with white side showing)
  5. Ask Truck crew to stock Large bin where firewood is stored with firewood and kindling (bin is on southern wall)
  6. Clean out fireplace
  7. Check/fill Indian pump
  8. Extra get ahead points: set up fireplace
  9. Fill big cauldron by fireplace with firewood, kindling and newspaper
  10. Vacuum mantel
  11. Murphy all furniture
  12. Fold extra tables and place behind bench
  13. Stack chairs (if Elliott gets new chairs, Newton should have 160 of those comfy padded chairs (preferably all one color, and Marshman should get the rest) if not, Newton should get all of the comfy chairs that are not presently in Elliott. If Elliott doesn’t get new chairs, enough folding chairs should be around to make the Newton chair population 100, the extras should go up into the attic of Newton (never place them to close to the entrance to the attic, they may shift and fall on someone).

ElliottEdit

  1. Everything from the stage should be taken off. Stage windows should be cleaned (storms put up) (window sills vacuumed. The floor should be swept (WELL!!!), mopped (with wood soap), and waxed 2 or 3 coats. Necessary stage items should be put back in an organized way. Anything that doesn’t belong back stage should be removed.
  2. Furniture should all be murphied (get those cobwebs under the benches and behind the shutters!)
  3. All furniture should be moved to one side of the room (don’t worry about moving the grand piano.)
  4. The empty side should be swept, mopped, and waxed (2 or 3 coats)
  5. The furniture should be moved and the other side should be swept, mopped, and waxed.
  6. The furniture should be set up. Benches around the perimeter. The Grand piano in the front corner by the stage, on the dining room side, covered. Lined trash cans placed throughout the room, by the benches.
  7. All chairs should be set up. There will be 4 sections. Be uniform in chair color (one in front half of the room, one in back half). Seems nit-picky, but it's an easy way to make things look neat and tidy. Also, annoyingly the different colors don't stack with each other, so it's best to keep them separated. There will be an aisle from the front row (which will by about 7 feet beyond the stage) to the back of the room. There should also be an aisle starting from the doors to the dining room. This will not match up with the aisle from the other exit. Make sure that the people sitting in the benches will have plenty of leg room, and for an aisle.
  8. The Elliott receiver should be set up, and one mic set up by the lectern at the front of the room. The curtains can be closed, and the screen pulled down.
  9. Windows need to be washed, window sills and shutters cleaned out and murphied. Shutters should be set up in a uniform way. Windows in doors should also cleaned.
